Student Enrichment Opportunities

Enrichment activities may change each year based on class availability and community partnerships. All activities will be announced to students and parents when available.

All activities outside the regular school day require a signed parent permission slip. Permission slips will be available in the office once activities begin. Below are examples of recent enrichment opportunities. 

STEM Maker Lab

Description: STEM Maker Lab is a hands-on building, tinkering, and making laboratory class led by college students from California State University, San Marcos. Examples of making activities include building robots, designing electronic clothing, and creating new games or inventions. This class meets on Wednesdays from 3:10-4:15 pm, starting in late September. Space is limited, turn in your permission slip to the front office. Parents will be responsible for dropping off and picking up their children on-time according to the schedule. 

Learning Labs

Description: Learning Labs are tutorial classes for student support before and/or after school. Learning Labs offer additional teacher instruction and extension activities in specific grade and subject areas as shown on the permission slip. Learning Labs begin in September. Space is limited, enrollment is on a first-come first-served basis: turn in your permission slip to the front office. Parents will be responsible for dropping off and picking up their children on-time according to the schedule.

WE Scare Hunger - Collect food for your local food bank to make sure everyone in your community can stand up to hunger. Hunger is a supervillain who makes life harder for millions of families across North America. For a kid struggling with hunger, one meal could mean the difference between having the energy to succeed in school and failing a test, or

WE Take Charge - When young people take action, the future gets brighter - and greener!

Take pledges to shake up your daily routine with new ways to go green and live sustainably. WE Take Charge is your students' opportunity to stand up for the environment; whether that's biking to school, doing a beach clean-up, or taking shorter showers. brightFuture Award - Students can apply to go green and have the chance to win 1 week at Take Action Camp in Arizona. Students who participate in WE Take Charge can apply for this amazing opportunity.
